Position Description

The Remote Performance Monitoring Engineer supports projects for multiple clients by remotely connecting to facility building control systems to gather and analyze commercial refrigeration and HVAC system operational data. Such data is used to establish baseline conditions, troubleshoot system performance issues, and ensure that energy efficiency initiatives are maintained.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Use of various building control system software to connect with facilities remotely
  • Collecting and interpreting key real time refrigeration and HVAC system and equipment setpoint and performance data
  • Identifying issues with refrigeration and HVAC system and equipment performance
  • Reviewing issues and implementing or overseeing action plans to resolve them
  • Maintaining records of system performance snapshots
  • Updating and managing databases and files, and proposing or designing system improvements
  • Providing support to clients and our field commissioning engineers

While this is an office-based position, there may be opportunities for occasional field visits to client sites in the greater Northeast to further professional development and increase knowledge of commercial refrigeration, HVAC, and building management control systems.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
  • Understanding of refrigeration and HVAC systems, or the ability to learn quickly
  • Experience working with building control systems and/or HVAC and refrigeration systems a plus
  • Ability to learn new software
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Experience conducting advanced statistical analyses a strong plus
  • Ability to think critically and conduct complex investigatory problem solving
  • Highly organized, with superb attention to detail


This is a full-time position, located in Yarmouth, ME, with pay starting at $50,000 and scaled based on qualifications.  BaselineES offers health and dental benefits, as well as select paid holidays. This is anticipated to be an entry level position but individuals with experience in HVAC and refrigeration engineering or service, remote performance monitoring, building control systems, or energy efficiency are encouraged to apply.
